Biographical / Historical

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra is a professional regional orchestra that presents more than 100 concerts annually in the Greater Hartford Area. It was founded in 1934 as the Civic Symphony Orchestra of Hartford and was established as the Symphony Society of Greater Hartford in 1936.

The program dated 1925 in the collection is from a separate, short-lived, volunteer orchestra also called the "Hartford Symphony Orchestra."
