Scope and Contents

The collection contains one souvenir booklet for the Connecticut Cricket Classics Six-a-Side tournament (1994), two souvenir booklets for the Cricket Hall of Fame's Six-a-Side tournament at Keney Park (1998, 2000), and one program for the induction ceremony of Dr. Sir Vivian Richards (2001).

Biographical / Historical

According to historical notes in the materials, cricket was popularized in Hartford by West Indian farm workers in the 1940s. The Cricket Hall of Fame, based in Hartford, was established in 1981. In addition to inducting international figures in the sport, the organization raised money for charities and took over hosting the Connecticut Cricket Classics Six-a-Side tournament at Keney Park's cricket field.
